Even those not familiar with Taylor Swift who have seen ‘The Hunger Games’ will recognise this song. Taylor Swift is not afraid of using capos by any means and its use can be found on many of her songs including Love Story, Mean, You Belong With Me and many others. Maybe the use is to bring the key of her songs up to her vocal range or simply she may just enjoy the brighter sound a capo can bring to guitar music. Personally I believe the latter.
Released December 23rd, 2011. Taylor took a less than typical approach of announcing the release of the song via Twitter with a download link to iTunes. The song title immediately became a top trending term on twitter. A good use of social media there as sales hit 136’000 in the first two days.
In the video below, we can see John Paul White from the Civil Wars positions the Capo up to the 7th Fret, so without further nonsense from myself, here is the video, tablature and tutorial videos for you to learn this tune in no time.
