In this article, I will be exploring the different Dexibell digital pianos currently available. It includes a brief history of Dexibell digital pianos, followed by a comparison table of the different models, and then a detailed review of each model in case you want to learn more about any in particular.

Dexibell Digital Piano History

Dexibell was founded in 2013 by the former Roland Europe’s R&D and engineering team, with financial support from Proel S.p.A., an Italian manufacturer of top brands of professional audio and lighting equipment, musical instruments, and accessories. Proel began marketing the Dexibell brand in North America in 2017, following several years of international success. To improve acoustic-piano realism in its instruments, Dexibell employs a set of patented technologies known as T2L (True to Life). First, Dexibell uses 24-bit/48kHz resolution, which is 256 times higher than the industry standard of 16-bit/44.1kHz (CD quality). Second, unlike most digital pianos, which have a sampling time per note of five seconds or fewer, Dexibell’s samples last 15 seconds, capturing practically the whole natural decay of a note and removing the need for artificial looping. Finally, Dexibell’s Quad-Core sound engine has 320 digital oscillators, which allows for almost infinite polyphony and sympathetic resonance. Dexibell collaborated with Ferrari’s design team to create a look for its instruments that is distinctively Italian, with sleek curved lines and vibrant color options in matte and glossy finishes, including black, white, red, pink, and blue. Digital pianos, keyboards, and organs are all made by Dexibell. VIVO (Italian for living) is the name of the company’s digital piano range, which comes in-home, portable, and stage variants. All are Bluetooth-enabled, record and play digital audio, and have two unique apps: the VIVO Editor for changing any of the instruments’ sound aspects, and XMURE for recording songs and play-along backing tracks with intelligent accompaniment.

Dexibell Vivo S1 User Reviews:

Roger from Colorado with a musical background (review on Sweetwater): “I adore the S1’s sleek style, high-quality craftsmanship, portability, easy intuitive controls, ease of use, and a large variety of voice selection. I viewed various keyboards, some of which were less expensive and some of which were more expensive, and I kept going back to this one. I didn’t want a lot of frills, and this is a decent option that fits my needs perfectly. I’ve only had to contact Dexibell once (for a registration issue), and they were extremely helpful. In terms of service, Sweetwater is unrivaled.”

Tracy Collins from Florida with a musical background as a composer, producer, and sound library developer (review on Sweetwater): “First and foremost, the instrument is exceptionally well-made and sounds fantastic. The keyboard itself is ideal for me, with excellent responsiveness and action. It’s also made in Italy rather than China. Isn’t that amazing? The integrated sounds are fairly good, and Dexibell offers additional sounds, including multiple grand pianos, for download. The drawbar organ sounds, as well as the revolving speaker model, are excellent.”

Dexibell Vivo S3 Pro User Reviews:

Walter Davies from Glendale, AZ with music background as a composer/musician, session player and studio engineer, neo-Classical and Jazz (review on Sweetwater): “The sounds on this keyboard are already outstanding, but the accessible Platinum sounds (for free!) on the internet, combined with the option to load your own SF2-format samples, expands the sonic possibilities significantly. But truly, you won’t care about loading any other sounds once you hear the piano on this. The most significant element for me, despite all the other features I was getting distracted with on the other options, was a truly life-like piano. Dexibell has captured the nuance and subtlety of excellent acoustic pianos in this instrument, particularly with the Platinum tones.

Dexibell Classico L3 User Reviews:

Charlie Fox from Humboldt Nation with music background as a Concert Harmonica/keyboard (review on Sweetwater): “I had owned a Roland C200 and C230, all of which were excellent instruments, but nothing was comparable to this one. The T2L simply has to be heard to appreciate how much better it is than other portable “pipe organs” in terms of sound and sound adaptability. It’s user-friendly, and it looks and feels like a Maserati! I can play the white keys high in the black without having to angle my fingers to avoid dragging the black keys down, and the black keys don’t seem narrow on the top and have a beautifully textured top, which I’ve never seen or felt before. The solo orchestral voices are incredible, and they’re somewhat addictive. The violin now sounds like a real instrument after I fixed my touch. Because there are fewer of us who play this type of instrument, our options have been limited, and our voices have been, to put it bluntly, less than stellar, if not embarrassing. I’m grateful that the music industry recognized our suffering and tossed us this bone…and what a bone it is!”

Dexibell Combo J7 User Reviews:

Michael Schmitz (review on Thomann): “As the owner of an older Hammond B3, I can attest to the J7’s closeness to the B3. The quality of the other sounds is also outstanding. Partially covered in goosebumps. Unfortunately, the organ sounds may be heard. If you did it individually, for example, to Leslie and the rest to the PA, it would be ideal. I wouldn’t necessarily want to buy an old B3 after today’s test.”

Dexibell S7 Pro User Reviews:

Cody with music background as a Worship Leader (review on Sweetwater): “I moved and needed a new keyboard after years of using a popular red stage keyboard. In no way does the Vivo S7 Pro 88 let you down. The piano sounds are the best, the controls are simple, and I can perform anything I used to do with ease. Because I primarily play worship music, I needed a piano with a gentle warm pad underneath it. To accomplish such an effect, you may easily link the sounds they have on the Vivo and filter the frequency using wheel 2. Custom sounds can be used with a sound font file. It’s a lovely keyboard that looks and feels like a grand piano. I occasionally play it with a fun organ module, synth, and midi just for kicks. For it to sit atop, I also made a unique table stand. This is a fantastic keyboard.”

Dexibell Vivo S7 Pro M User Reviews:

Arnaud5912 (review on Thomann): “I’ve been playing this piano for a few months now and I’m very happy with it. I’m a composer and a small-group player, which is why I chose the S7 PRO M with speakers. As a result, I am autonomous. I like how high-quality the sounds on many of the instruments are. The core sounds are excellent and have already been sampled extensively. Other piano sounds and instruments are available for free download on the Dexibell website. I recommend that you try out the Platinum piano sounds that are available. They are of outstanding quality. In a nutshell, a delight! The touch is also quite good and can be adjusted. The memory needed to create a bank of sounds that you wish to utilize is limited (1.5 GB), but this isn’t a major issue because you can quickly switch between the sounds that we produced on a USB key. There are numerous options available. Even the sustain pedal’s sound can be changed! The sustain pedal (DX CP1), for example, is included with the piano. However, it is only mentioned in the last photo of the Thomann page about the piano, not in the list of available accessories.”

Dexibell Vivo S9 User Reviews:

Daniel H. Harrison from NC with music background as a teacher, performer, piano industry veteran for 35 years (review on Sweetwater): “Unbelievable instrument for performance. I can’t say enough good things about the product’s sound, feel, and usability. VERY adaptable, whether in a live performance or the studio. It also has non-Japanese piano sounds that are incredibly real. (In some cases, the richer, deeper sound is preferable than the cutting, crisp sound of Asian piano builders). This Dexibell instrument appeals to me because of its versatility and capacity to be updated regularly. It’s Outstanding!

Dexibell’s new flagship model digital piano, the H10, is a new flagship model from the premium Italian manufacturer. The Dexibell H10 builds on the success of the introduction models released in 2017, with new hybrid wood and plastic 88-note hammer action, triple contact keyboard, and escapement mechanism. The H10 is a digital instrument that lets you choose from a variety of world-class concert grand pianos, all of which have been sampled in high definition utilizing holophonic recording techniques, with lower register samples lasting up to 15 seconds. The H10’s piano sound is developed utilizing Dexibell’s True-2-Life (T2L) technology, which enables 24 Bit/48KHz sampling and limitless polyphony and is powered by a Quad-Core Cortex CPU (operating at 1.8GHz with 4GB of memory). More stunning onboard piano sounds can be downloaded for free from the Dexibell manufacturer’s website, in addition to some stunning onboard piano tones. Dexibell Vivo H10 User Reviews:

Lisa Witt with a music background as a piano teacher for 19 years (review on Pianote): “This is the piano that I use at work and I adore it. It’s a small piano, but it packs a lot of punch for its size. The VIVO H10 is a hand-crafted digital piano with exquisite wooden keys, even though it is officially a digital piano. It includes sounds like Platinum Italian Grand Piano and the Platinum United States Grand Piano. It also includes Pleyel, C. Bechstein, and Fazioli samples.”

Dexibell Vivo H10 MG

Indicative Price: $12,995.00

The H10 MG includes three platinum sound libraries on board: the Italian Grand Piano, the US Grand Piano, and the Electric Piano 70’s, as well as 119 other high-quality sounds. With the simple use of a USB pen drive, it is easy to load new sounds or change them all without losing the factory ones. The 3.2 GB internal memory can be loaded with the free downloadable library sound (from dexibell.com). 15 loudspeakers, an Italian-made soundboard, 4 DSPs, and 4 amplifiers ensure flawless sound distribution at 360 degrees, much like a genuine grand piano. The innovative Wooden-Plastic Hybrid Keyboard with gradual weighting, escapements, “ivory-ebony feel finish,” 3 contacts, and key by key calibration gives the H10MG a natural feel. When the Damper pedal is pressed, the “staccato resonances,” “sympathetic resonances,” “hammer noise,” and “88 resonances” of the strings are all features of the acoustic piano replicated thanks to the unique “True To Life (T2L)” technology. The powerful dynamic excursion, from true “pianissimo” to “fortissimo,” is made possible by the 24 bits linear and 48KHz sampling rate, which provides a definition 256 times greater than competing products operating at 16 bits and 44.1 kHz. With unlimited polyphony, you can use all the notes you need while playing with four hands and pressing the Damper pedal.

Dexibell Vivo H10 MG User Reviews:

Tony from Bonners Piano & Keyboard/Bonners Piano Centre (review on Youtube): “This is a stunning digital piano. I don’t normally pass opinions within my videos and always try to give you all the facts and allow you to make your own mind to choose the right digital piano for you. However, occasionally products come along which are just right. They look, sound, and feel right. And the Dexibell H10 MG is one of those. I will always give credits to where credits are due. The Dexibell H10 MG fits in the category of beautiful pianos. It’s a product that looks fantastic and is designed and built-in Italy. It has  high-quality piano sounds and has a wooden keyboard action that makes it have sort of all the ingredients to be a genuine and great musical instrument.”
