The iRig UA now works with a wider variety of Android smartphones. In addition, it is compatible with most Android 4.2 and above devices that support USB OTG. While the iRig 2 only supports apple products with the IOS versions of 4.3 and above.
iRig 2
The iRig 2 builds on the success of its version by including necessary new capabilities such as adjustable input gain, cross-platform compatibility, and a 1/4″ input jack “amplifier output, which will once again change the way you make music on the go.
Assume you like the original iRig’s flexibility. In that scenario, the iRig 2’s new adjustable gain dial, along with the built-in 1/8″ input, would be an ideal “TRRS output connection for a natural plug-and-play experience with iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, and Macbooks.
Pros of iRig 2
- Budget-friendly purchase
- User-friendliness
- An easy-to-use amp connector.
Cons of iRig 2
- Prone to feedback on high-gain sounds.
iRig UA
iRig UA has been the first digital effects processor and sound interface that allows you to play your guitar, bass, or any musical equipment on your Android mobile at any time and from any location.
It works in tandem with AmpliTube UA to offer jaw-dropping and completely unrivaled audio performance with any phone or tablet that runs Android 4.2 or above (supporting host mode/USB OTG).
Pros of iRig UA
- Small and lightweight, it is extremely portable.
- Surprisingly lovely sound quality with the free gear supplied.
- Latency is low (2 ms).
Cons of iRig UA
- It would not be possible to try the premium add-on gear before purchasing it, and the gear is very costly for items that can only be utilized within the Android app.
- It’s hard to record unless you have a device that supports Samsung Professional Audio.
- To utilize it with a PC, you must use ASIO4all, which is a headache to deal with and, at best, a half-assed solution.
